Stardale Women’s Group and the school of Alberta Ballet collaborated on a dance and acting initiative called, “Alesha’s Dream”. Young Aboriginal girls in Calgary had the opportunity to assist in the designing of a play around the theme of youth suicide. Through the arts the girls conveyed a beautiful story about Alesha and her struggle at home and at school. It is a poignant and sad story yet for the love of friends and family she survives. A lovely Aboriginal legend is spun throughout the vignettes.
